Air-motor actuators are reliable when the supplied air is clean.
Inaccurate output flow. When the piston changes the moving direction, the output will momentarily go to zero causing pulsation. Therefore in each pump cycle for a while the mixing ratio between the base material and hardener is incorrect.
Due to the pulsation, the flow control accuracy must be kept inaccurate to prevent the alarms in normal operation.
Due to the wearing of the seals, the output of the pump will change in long term.
Flow meters became inaccurate due the wearing and crystallization of the hardener. Actual flow rate and mixing ratio with worn equipment is +/- 10%.
Stabilisers increase the pulsation and the control limits for the flow controls must be kept wide.
High need for maintenance because the materials contain a lot of abrasive particles that will wear the seals, cylinders, check valves and piston shafts.
